Snowed - In Trade Reports

This is what I woke up to this morning !!

So I decided it's a good time to post a couple trades.

I called off work, but I do have some on line training classes I can take, so that's what I'll be doing when I get done here.

First up, a trade stack from Nachos Grande.

Fan O Reds hinted at the fact that this could be a very rare error card (note the missing foil) so my lightening fast, 60 year old reflexes grabbed it right up ! I was going to put it on ebay and hope to get $2-3,000.00 out of it but .......

Actually I was going to trade it to a certain Twins collector but he already had it !

He sent a very wide variety of Tribe cards.

From many different years and sets.

It's actually kind of exciting, like going through boxes at a card show !

This was nice !
This one will definitely help my Thome collection (Indian uniforms only) !
2008 Topps Moments and Milestones 06/25.

Thanks so much to Nachos Grande
for the great cards !

Next up, cards from Rhubarb_Runner
He would be the aforementioned Twins collector, so if he wants that "rare" Morneau sparkly error card to go with his collection, all he has to do is let me know !
I have some Topps Stadium Club Master Photo cards but I had never these from Toy's R' Us.

Plus he sent these regular sized Tribe cards to go with them.
I loved the 90's with all the odd-ball sets and crazy inserts !

Here's some older Indians.
I love the Ray Fosse.

Moving ahead in time to some 1992-3 Fleer.

Then a little sticker action.
Again, the odd balls.

This is a nice card, just a very bad picture.
(sorry, not sure what happened on these last shots, didn't notice until I started writing)
1996 UD Predictor Kenny Lofton Most Valuable Player

Not sure who's bright idea this set was, but I do want to get all of the Indian games.
I only have about 17 and I need all of these !

Now we're getting up to modern times.
I like the Upper Deck X.
It seems to be one of those sets that you either love or hate.

Now we're going to back-up again.
Yeah, I remember Municipal Stadium. But I wish I had been there to see this ....

It had to end sometime.

One last really great item !!

From 1964, a Jim "Mudcat" Grant Topps Coin.
I'm not sure just how many Indians there are in this set but I now have two.
The other one also came in a blogger trade !

Thanks to you too Rhubarb_ Runner, for the great cards!
And I'm looking forward to more trades also.

From the nest of Night Owl ....do owls have nests ?

As promised, here's the loot that flew over from Night Owl.

He sent quite a pile of Indians !!

These, in no specific order, are some of my favorites.

First a couple of 2011 Indians.

Josh Tomlin,
who pitched very well in in a limited engagement last year.

Michael Brantley,
who also shows promise and is a candidate for an outfield spot this year.

1994 O-Pee-Chee
Manny Ramirez

1995 Score Checklist

The wooden bat background fits right in with my latest blog design.

(I've been experimenting lately, I think I like this one !)

2010 A&G
Matt LaPorta

We defintely need him to pick-up the pace this year.
He shows sporatic power and with experience should come around.

1976 Topps
I like this one !

The Bell boys. Buddy's son, David, also played for the Tribe.

1994 O-Pee-Chee

More Manny as a Hot Prospect.

2009 Topps Chrome

Trevor Crowe rookie.

2009 Upper Deck Spectrum

More shiny !!
Victor Martinez blue
Travis Hafner

2010 Topps

Luis Valbuena
Here's one I missed from last year.

1996 Donruss

Eddie Murray
Yes, he got his 3,000th hit while he was playing for the Tribe !

Yes, he also took the lead in games played at 1st while with the Tribe !

Thank you very much Mr Night Owl !
There are some very nice additions to my collection.

Gold and Oldies from the South

Get it !? Gold and Oldies. Golden Oldies !! OK, I'm not much of a comedian ! Just a two-bit blogger and a very big baseball and Cleveland Indian fan.

On to some serious trading business.

McCann Can Triple, over at A Rookie Baseball Card Collector , had some 2011 Topps cards to offer and I quickly spoke up for a few of them.

The Lost 1955 Bob Feller card. In today's sets, Feller probably would not have been dropped for a couple years as he was back then. This helps make up for it a little. Hopefully they'll make a '54 card also.

I love the CMGR set. She sent these four which will go with the other three I already have.
I now have cards 1, 2, 6, 8, 14, 20 and 23. The trading floor is open for any other cards in this set.

Last, but not least, is this Matt Garza Topps 60 jersey card. I really like the design of this card, but the name and the print at the top are very hard to read. Do we really need the silver foil type ?

Thanks much to McCann Can Triple for sending these great cards up from South Carolina !!

The golden part of this post made it's way up from the neighboring state of Kentucky.

hiflew, over at Cards From the Quarry , sent up some golden Tribe cards that have found a good home in my collection.
I do not remember this Topps MVP promotion and definitely did not have this card !

Now we go back a little farther with a 1993 Top Prospect Mike Christopher and 2008 Josh Barfield gold versions.

Topps Gold from 1994, Charles Nagy and Jim Thome, two of the outstanding players from the late 90's Tribe powerhouse teams.

Continuing with Eric Plunk and Jose Mesa. Love the shades !

Still more gold with Kenny Lofton and Paul Sorrento.

Thanks to you too, hiflew, for the terrific Tribe cards.

I also sense a strong wind from the east ! Next time, I predict you will see some of the generosity of our favorite nocturnal bird, Night Owl !

Drinking Tribe Style

Thorzul will rule handed out an assignment on Thursday.
(I feel like I'm back in school !).
Here's my crack at it.

Cleveland Indian Cups

Ok, I already failed the course. This is not an actual soda, pop or carbonated drink cup.
I only wish I had had the foresight to mark a date on the bottom of the cups when I got them.

Another broken rule, I think this came from Good Will. 1995

3 for 3 on rules ! I just bought this cup today at a store going out of business. 2009

This one only half broke the rules. It came from the stadium but it didn't come with pop !!

Another purchased mug. ( Am I going to lose my right to blog ? )

Another non non - alcoholic beverage cup. 2001

Here we go ! This is what he really wanted to see ! 2001

100 hundred years of Tribe baseball 2001 #2 of 3

100 years of Tribe baseball 2001 #1 of 3

Go Tribe !! 2000

American League Champions 1999
American League Champions 1998
Progressive Field 2008

Progressive Field 2008

Slider in the HOF 2008

This mug actually didn't come with a drink.
It came with nuts, to make you thirsty so you'ld buy a drink !

This was also a Good Will item.

Well, that was only a few of them. I have more packed away in several places due to lack of display area. Hope to have a bigger room someday.
