Arrest Me ! I Stole an Omar Auto

Well, not literally !  Those of you who follow me on facebook or read this on a regular basis ( although it hasn't been very regular lately ! )  know how much I love thrift stores. Especially Good Will.

I'll just let the pictures do the talking !

I probably would have paid $2.29 for the ball holder !

What a Difference the Inserts and Parallels Make

Today's chart looks a little different than the last one.
If you missed it, see my last post for all the details.

Adding inserts, subsets and parallels to the mix makes it a little more like what I expected, although I am still not happy with my Indian results.

The Yankees. You either love 'em or hate 'em.
But even though they are not the dominate team they once were, they were such a juggernaut back in Casey's days, they still get a lot of respect.

If you are a fan of Oakland, Milwaukee or the White Sox, then your luck really sucks ! Nothing but base cards for those three teams.

These are the Indian base cards I pulled with only one duplicate of Kipnis ( 2 base and 1 foil )

Martinez 1st HR, Feller highlight Kluber wins leader and Brantley 3rd in BA.
I didn't count Brantly as  an Indian card. I only counted the actual leader in my list.

Here are my extra leader cards.

Robbed

I am collecting this set.
I have these two.

This was my disappointment from the Target box.
I WILL contact Topps about a replacement.
I tried to get the coin to slide over into position
but it wouldn't budge !

This one was centered much better.

The lone memorabilia card.

2 World Series cards

4 foil cards.

The three Babe Ruth cards I pulled are unique in that there is one Baltimore, one Red Sox and one Yankee card. I am going to save these.

Everything else is up for trade.
Plus. obviously,  I have a lot of base cards.

Next I am going to start posting  a new want list.

I have a "complete" Indians, 700 + page checklist I have been working my way through this winter.
My next project is to get all my needs and wants listed here !

2015 TOPPS BASE CARDS COLLATION RESULTS

Ok. here is the final tally for the base cards !
First number is the total cards, second number is
duplicates and third number is unique cards.

I realize this is a very small sampling from one northern Ohio city right on the edge of a frozen lake in the middle of February, so it not necessarily representative of  Topps' overall collation. But from the comments, I don't think it is much better in any other areas !

The Mets are on top, good call to The Lost Collector !,
but look at Cincinnati, way down in the middle.
They are in 4th place in unique cards !

I thought St Louis would have a better showing while the World Series teams had almost 50% dupes.

If I was a set collector I'd be pretty bummed out.
394 base cards with 169 duplicates.

In the next couple of days I will be mixing in the inserts,
subsets and parallels to see what kind of difference that makes !

A Different Take on 2015 Topps How is your Collation ?

There were a lot of things going on in 2014. Not bad things, just things ! I really never had the time to sit down and keep up the ole' blog like I should have. But I think I'm ready to come back in full force now, although I feel like a rookie. I have many trade packages to get out and several to post. Even though I wasn't posting much, I still got packages in the mail. It's just such a great blogging community !

Here you see my 2015 Topps supply. A Target blaster, hanger box, rack pack, jumbo pack and regular pack. A Walmart blaster, hanger box and rack pack and a Toys R Us rack pack and regular pack. Our Walmart doesn't have regular packs.

The two stacks in back are all the base cards sorted into team piles. The stacks in front are inserts, subsets and misc. I never think I get enough Indian cards for my location and maybe the card companies don't take that into consideration anyway. If not they should !  I would buy more if I thought the chances of getting cards from my local team were greater. But are they ?  I'm about to find out and tell the whole world. Or at least the few people who read my humble scribblings.

What do you reader(s) think ? What team got the most cards ? ( not my Indians !!) Who got the least ?  The results may surprise you !

I may even make this a sort of contest. Let's see what kind of feedback I get !!

My next post will have all the pertinent results.

BTW  You can call me Baseball Dad or Baseball Granddad  or after April, you can call me Baseball Granddad 2.  Little Miranda is getting a baby sister !!
