1992 Topps Blackless Back - have you seen one of these before ?

My oldest son Josh found this in a box of misc cards he purchased at a flea market a few years ago.

Has anyone ever seen one before or know anything about it?

I know there have been many variations over the years concerning missing ink, but we have never seen one quite like this!

  1. Blank backs are not as uncommon as people might think. BUT, this is not a blank back. This is some weird "incomplete" back! I have never seen one of those before. It is as though someone took it off the line during the printing process. How wild!

  2. I'm sure it's not really worth much at all, but it is similar to the 1982 Topps which had a run of cards that were missing the black ink on the front.

  3. Maybe Dan Gladden was just a man without a history...no known date of birth, no previous stats...he floated into the majors as a vapor, then disappeared in the same way...

  4. A makeready sheet that should have been tossed. Another example of Topps' quality control (lack of) at work!
