2013 Topps, Now I'm getting excited !

A stop at Target after work tonight was well worth it as I found 2013 Topps waiting !
The base cards have a crisp look with very sharp photos.
I like the player names. Much easier to read than the last few years.
I especially like the Giants World Series card.
Excellent shot !

I also like Saltalamacchia and the Pirate boys in their two different jerseys.

There was a lot of variety in the one rack pack I bought.
Tim Lincecum " Calling Card " insert.
Howie Kendrick Red Parallel
Chasing History may be an insert set I go for, these are pretty cool!
The green sparkly thing is alright too.
There were three red parallels and three "Chasing History" cards in this pack.
The names are harder to read on these inserts.
This years minis are based on the 1972 Topps set.
I'm sure there will be many collectors chasing these.
The Million Dollar Chase !
Rack up 57 straight hits and win !!!
Will have to check out the website for all the details.

One last card for today.
Giancarlo Stanton " Chasing the Dream " insert.
I really like the set so far.
I think Topps did a good job.
I am a little disappointed in the fact that there were no Tribe cards.
Zero. Zilch. None !
The whole checklist doesn't look too good for me this year.
Oh well, it'll all be OK when the Indians win the World Series this year !!

Tribe Fest part 2

As we walk down the halls in the sacred tunnels, there are beautiful wall decorations.

Then there was this one !

Not too shabby of a hide-a-away !
Big screen TV on left wall.

Just like all of our basements, right !?
Now the Clubhouse !

Well, that was an amazing trip !
I never thought I would see this area.
There was another display that was very interesting.

Jim Thome in a Sox cap ??

The above displays are all created with very small, flat Lego bricks !
An amazing feat  by this gentleman.

Oh, if you had a Key Bank card, FREE food !!
Ball park hot dogs
Cracker Jack
Even the bank has a mascot !
All in all, it was an amazing day !
I hope they use the same basic plan next year !!
And now I leave you with one last photo...

Thanks, to Katie and the entire Cleveland Indians Organization !!!

2013 Indian Tribe Fest , Autos and more ! Part 1

Last weekend the Cleveland Indians held their annual pre spring training Tribe Fest. It used to be known as a press tour, but has evolved into a terrific show for everyone.
First you need a ticket.
But it's only $10 a head.

Programs are free !
And they have a nice map inside.
 First up are autographs !!

The first three are mystery auto's.
I know who they are, do you !?

Here's a hint for the 3rd one.
Katie Witham, the Indian's gorgeous roving reporter !
My wife's comment was " She's young enough to be your daughter, maybe granddaughter!"
OK, and your point is ???

Back to baseball!
Come on guys, down here!

Jason Kipnis is becoming my favorite player.
If things go well this year, he will get his own album.
In other words, I want all the JK cards I can get !
I will work on a want list soon.

The drummer, John Adams, sits at the top of the bleachers at nearly every Tribe home game.
He has become an icon in Cleveland and has his own bobblehead.
Unfortunately, I wasn't at that game.

I'm not sure what happened with this photo. I had it correct in "my documents". It turned, in the transition to photo bucket. Went back to docs and turned it there. Still imported wrong !
The Cleveland Blues are a Vintage Baseball team.

They may add my oldest son to their roster !
I want to get to some of their games next summer.
There were also a lot of give-a-ways everywhere.
Player magnets.
Same size as baseball cards

3 1/2 x 6"  logo magnets
Mascot cards.
The Hot Dog race is a big part of every home game !

Mascot magnets, they were out of Ketchup.
And team schedules.
There's Kipnis again !!
Well, so much for part 1.
It's getting late here in Ohio.
Next time we go into the inner sanctum.
The player's clubhouse !!
